Happy by PHARRELL WILLIAMS

I truly believe that we should be more happy, more of the time. The universe owes it to us. Especially me, of course. Maybe it’s just a matter of admitting and accepting it. Admit that you live a beautiful life and embrace what you have, Danny!

This is me in Aberystwyth, Wales. Arrived today, will fly out again on Thursday. It’s really small, but they booked a nice room for me by the sea, plus I get to see my old-time friend, Sülzinger.

Life without Internet

Danielsan.

So, I moved a little over a month ago and while I’ve installed myself just fine in the new neighborhood (Good bye to you “party kids” in Kreuzberg, and hello to you “working adults” in Schöneberg!) there are still a couple of issues I need to sort out. First and foremost, we don’t have Internet access in the new flat. Please don’t ask me why. Honestly, it is beyond me. Just yesterday one of these service technicians from the telephone company came by to activate our telephone line and after half an hour of checking wall sockets, distribution boxes and what not he left informing me that “This looks bad, man. Seems like the line is dead.” I should call the landlord and make him send somebody over to install a new telephone line for our flat. As I’ve got to know my share of landlords in Berlin in the last couple of years I’m almost certain that this ain’t gonna happen.

:-(

So today at work I did two things: First, I started reading blogs about cracking other people’s WiFi passwords. Second, I started reading blogs about life without Internet. Both to no avail. First, I’m not nerdy enough to do all the things necessary to hack someone’s WiFi. Second, all the people writing about life without Internet seem to be rich jerks like TheMinimalists.com who think it’s cool to try living a Spartan life (at least for a while).

Guille:

I went to see “Under the skin” this eve, I found it really good and disturbing although I fell asleep for a bit, I dont know if that makes sense but I think it´s a accurate description of the movie, disturbing and good but with some boring bits. Nevertheless I found pretty amazing how well expresses the feeling of being an “alien” in a country like Uk, how boring and lonely can be sometimes. Anyway the less you know before watching the better. The soundtrack is really impressive too, I wanted to post a song from it but it´s not out until April, was composed by Mica Levi, she used to play in Micachu and the shapes, and it´s incredible this one is her first soundtrack and she is only 24 …..bloody kids! :)

Aftermath by HUNDREDS

Heard this Hamburg based duo (siblings!) for the first time this weekend. On the radio! In the car! What does this say about me? (That I don’t have no ferking clue about music and listen to what they play on the radio!)

Anyways, I liked it a lot and thought that you might enjoy it as well.

Several Shades Of Why by J MASCIS

I have a nice story about meeting J Mascis in Kreuzberg two days before their show at the SO36 last year or the year before but this is not the place to tell it. Maybe later. Maybe.
